This Chapter house was in need of not only aesthetic upgrades but also required a new commercial kitchen, and full accessibility upgrades including an exterior ramp and new bathroom. Careful attention was paid to the historic character of the building to bring it into modern day compliance.
This historic mill building located in the heart of Lawrence was looking for tenants on the ground floor. Amy Bloom Architecture worked with Lawrence CommunityWorks to help Groundworks Lawrence develop a community learning space along with a commercial teaching kitchen and offices for afterschool educational programs. In addition to Groundworks space other programing included neighboring offices for MCCI, function hall spaces and a dance studio.
